Once the shipwreck has occurred, the wreckage tends to sink. There, new, tiny islands begin to re-found, composed of things that were once complete in other ways.

For some time I was making long lists of things I failed or might fail at. Once I could remember no more, I tore up all the paper and submerged it in water to start a new body. This time a more fragile, more permeable paper. Everything that floated in the water was rescued on racks, dried and suspended in the middle of large panes of glass, being wrecks complete in themselves but failing to account for what once was.

Una vez ocurrido el naufragio, los restos tienden a hundirse. Allí, se empiezan a refundar nuevas y diminutas islas, compuestas por cosas que alguna vez fueron completas de otra forma.

Durante algún tiempo estuve haciendo largas listas de cosas en las que fracasé o podría fracasar. Una vez que no pude recordar más, rompí todo el papel y lo sumergí en agua para dar inicio a un nuevo cuerpo. Esta vez un papel más frágil, más permeable. Todo lo que flotó en el agua fue rescatado en bastidores, secado y suspendido en medio de grandes vidrios, siendo pecios completos en sí mismos pero que no logran dar cuenta de lo que alguna vez fue.
